Supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari under the aegis of the Democratic Youth Congress on Thursday at the Unity Fountain in Abuja have called on Buhari to declare his intention for re-election.
While responding to the group’s call, the Secretary to the Federal Government SGF, Boss Mustapha represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters, Gideon Sammani, said there is no alternative to President Buhari.
“We do not have an alternative to Mr President for now,” he said, before taking a swipe at those that have indicated interest in replacing President Buhari.
“Some of the aspirants who are interested in leading this nation have nothing to offer to this nation.”
The pro Buhari group in a statement said “We have a cardinal call that if President Muhammadu Buhari does not come out and make a public statement before Monday (February 19), we will be forced to go to court and invite him to come to court and make a public statement that he is recontesting for President come 2019,” the DYC national chairman said.
