Buhari Meets Ex-VP Sambo At Aso Villa

Former vice president, Arc Namadi Sambo, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in the State House, Abuja.

The President met behind closed-doors with Sambo in his office for about 40 minutes.

Sambo, however, declined to take questions from State House correspondents on the purpose and outcome of the meeting, saying it was a private visit.

The former vice president had equally visited his successor, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, on May 10, 2017.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had on February  2 2016, raided an office complex in Abuja belonging to Sambo in a reported search of documents that could link him to the 2.1 billion dollar arms procurement scandal.

Sambo had however said his visit to Osinbajo was a usual familiarization visit to his successor and nothing more.

His visit to the President is also coming 24 hours after Osinbajo accused the immediate past administration of squandering about 150 billion naira barely two weeks to the 2015 general elections.
