The Uber driver who has his car seized and was brutalised by Lagos state security operatives sues the Lagos state government for ₦500 million.
Mr Adedotun Clement is suing the state government for torture, seizure and destruction of his vehicle, and brutalisation by the police and neighbourhood safety corps (LNSC).
Mr Clement was manhandled before cameras during the End SARS memorial protest which took place on Wednesday, 20th October. In a video shared by the defendant, he says he was not a part of the protest and was working in the vicinity when his vehicle was towed and he was unlawfully arrested.
He is now demanding a ₦500 million compensation for his losses, a written apology and disciplinary action against the officers who brutalised him. Read his lawyer’s petition to the government below.
