The Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwoolu shared a 6 point plan to resolve the ongoing Magodo land dispute.
A few days before the new year, numerous homes were marked for demolition in Magodo Phase 2; a high brow residential estate in Kosofe local government area of Lagos. The Shangisha Landlords Association made an attempt to enforce the Judgement of a Supreme Court, reallocating plots within the area to them. This action posed a threat to homeowners who had legally bought and developed those plots with approval from the state government.
Governor Sanwoolu has promised that the 549 Judgement creditors (Shangisha Landlords Association) would be given lands within the Shangisha Village Scheme and in other suitable locations within the state.
