Miss Nigeria Universe 2021, Maristella Okpala won the award for best National Costume at the just concluded Miss Universe Pageant.
Miss Nigeria gained a majority of the votes in the category via the Miss Universe App. Maristella Okapara says her costume was inspired by the Mmamma masquerade from south eastern Nigeria, a female masquerade who fought against the abuse of women and children in the region.
After a rigorous competition, Miss India was crowned Miss Universe 2021.
