Nigeria Unveils The Worlds Largest Rice Pyramids

The Nigerian government under President Mohammedu Buhari unveiled the worlds largest rice pyramids in Its capital city of Abuja today. The pyramids are located at the Abuja Chamber of Commerce, along Airport Road, Lugbe. The pyramids are said to have been built by stacking over 1 million bags of rice paddy.

Why Did Nigeria Build Rice Pyramids?

The pyramids were built in a joint effort of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), the Central Bank of Nigeria.

According to the Mr Shehu Muazu, Chairman Pyramid Sub Committee, RIFAN, the rice pyramids were built “to showcase the achievement of government as far as agriculture is concerned and to call on Nigerian corporations to queue into investments in agriculture.

After the pyramids are unveiled, RIFAN will partner with the Rice Millers Association to process the rice and sell to Nigerians at a discount.
