A former Senator representing Eket Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom State, Honourable Nelson Effiong has spent more than 7 weeks in the kidnapper den. Senator Effiong was kidnapped on Sunday, September 5th, in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
A recent tweet from his colleague, Senator Shehu Sani confirmed that Nelson Effiong is still in captivity.
Hon. Nelson Effiong’s kidnap case is quite peculiar not only because he is a lawmaker but also because he is quoted to have said claims of extreme insecurity in the country under the current administration are exaggerated.
