Soldiers Kill Four Herdsmen Disguised As Soldiers In Benue

Soldiers from the 707 Special Forces on Monday killed four suspected Fulani herdsmen disguised as soldiers in Yogbo community of the Guma Local Government Area of Benue state.
Military identity cards were found on the bodies of the slain herdsmen by the soldiers who conducted a search on them.

Another source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the remains of the herders were taken to NASME private clinic in Makurdi.

When contacted, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 707 Special Forces Battalion, Makurdi, Major Ayeni Olabisi, confirmed the incident.

Ayeni said, “Our troops stationed in Yogbo, in the Guma LGA, killed four Fulani herdsmen but no military identity cards were found on them. I will still contact you to give you further information.”

Also, the Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, Terver Akase, said about 20 of the Fulani herdsmen attacked Yogbo village.

He said, “Herders invaded the village and started burning down several houses. Troops responded and killed four of them while others fled.”
