The University of Nigeria’s Student Union Senate President Impeached

The student union government (SUG) of the University of Nigeria has impeached its senate president, Mr Nnamani Ifeanyi of the Faculty of Law, Enugu Campus.

Mr Nnamani was charged with misappropriation of funds to the tune of 65.5 million nairas, abuse of constitutional power, disregard for the institutions of the SUG, and disobedience of the SUG constitution.

Following his impeachment, Nnamani Ifeanyi has been ordered to refund the sum of 3.2 million nairas belonging to the student body which he allegedly channelled to personal use.

A letter signed by the acting senate president of the student union government of the prestigious university, Ogbu Chinazam, stating these claims was obtained online. A document signed by the ousted senate president obtained from the same source shows an allocation of 65.5 million nairas of student funds to a private contractor for the provision of 150 outdoor benches.
